Indian fashion designer Rohit Kamra showcased his latest collection at the Amazon India Fashion Week in what was a great triumph. This is especially amazing when you realise that he didn’t finish the National Institute of Fashion Technology exam because he realised that he “had no drawing skills.” He thus gave up on his dream of being a fashion designer. However after a short stint in the family business he started to design closes for himself, which eventually led to the creation of his own clothing label in 2007.
Before his stint at Amazon Indian Fashion Week Kamra had showcased at Lakme Fashion Week where he used fabrics such as “flannel, wool, wool silk and linen wool. Then there’s also Rajasthan khadi, which is wool khadi and is made in Bikaner and Jaisalmer” in his outfits. These more traditional types of fabrics and manufacturing techniques are going through a renaissance at present and are being championed on some of the biggest fashion stages in the country.
From 24th and 28th August there had the winter/festive Lakmé Fashion Week. Showcasing Haute Couture with a decidedly Asian twist, the Lakmé Fashion Week is India’s most prestigious style event and the ideal place for the fashion fans. This important event is organized by the number one of Indian cosmetics and beauty brand Lakmé and IMG Fashion. The show sets out to redefine the future of fashion and integrate India’s culture into the global scene. Thanks’ to the top international designers as well as the best home-grown talent, this amazing show, this week is organized two times each year with events in the spring/summer and autumn/winter. This amazing show is beautiful pleasure for all fashion fans, You can admire the new famous designer creation.
